{"id":557,"date":"2021-03-08T10:13:27","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T10:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/goc2020.govmu.org\/passport\/?page_id=557"},"modified":"2025-12-29T09:46:29","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T09:46:29","slug":"employment-in-mauritius","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/passport.govmu.org\/passport\/?page_id=557","title":{"rendered":"Residence Permit for Employment"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"557\" class=\"elementor elementor-557\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-9423d73 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"9423d73\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-d4abafd\" data-id=\"d4abafd\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d580b72 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d580b72\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>APPLICATION FOR NEW \/ RENEWAL OF RESIDENCE PERMIT &#8211; FOR EMPLOYMENT IN MAURITIUS<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>Any person who wishes to seek employment in Mauritius\u00a0may not be allowed to enter Mauritius unless he\/she is the holder of a Residence Permit\u00a0issued by the Passport Immigration Office <strong>and<\/strong>\u00a0a Work Permit\u00a0issued by the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>PUBLIC NOTICE<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><strong>Section 15 (1) of the Finance Act 2025 stipulates that<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><i><em><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">\u201cEvery employer who has in his employment a non-citizen worker shall pay such annual non-refundable prescribed fee per non-citizen worker to the Director General of Immigration<\/span><\/em><\/i><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Henceforth, all employers have to pay a non-refundable fee of five hundred rupees (RS 500\/=) per year per non-citizen worker at the cashier`s office, 8<sup style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">th<\/sup>\u00a0floor, Residence Permit Section, PIO prior to the issuance of Residence Permits.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Application should be submitted at:-<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>Residence Permit Counter,<br \/><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Passport and Immigration Office,<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">8th Floor, Sterling House,<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Lislet Geoffrey Road,<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Port Louis.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><strong><u>Main Applicant<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Application Form to Enter Mauritius to be filled and signed by the applicant or by representative on his behalf.<\/li><li>Two recent passport size photographs of the applicant.<\/li><li>Photocopy of the data pages of applicant&#8217;s passport.
