Nationals/citizens of countries listed in the ninth and eleventh schedules of the Passport Regulations should apply and obtain a wedding visa prior to travel to Mauritius for the purpose of getting civilly married to a Citizen of Mauritius.
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED
MALE APPLICANT
1. Application form to enter Mauritius filled and signed by applicant;
2. Letter from applicant certifying his intention to marry a citizen of Mauritius including:-
(i) Occupation and earning to ensure his financial support to the would-be spouse;
(ii) Lodging /accommodation facilities;
(iii) Family status/background; and
(iv) Whether he knows the would-be spouse and for how long they know each other indicating how they got acquainted;
3. Two recent passport size photographs of applicant;
4. Full Birth certificate of applicant;
5. Full certificate of Character or Casier Judiciaire or Certificate of Previous Convictions which should bear the names and forenames of the applicant;
6. Copy of valid return passage ticket (where applicable);
7. Photocopy of data pages of valid passport of applicant;
8. Confirmation letter from citizen of Mauritius certifying intention of civil marriage with the non-citizen and undertaking of responsibilities;
9. Birth certificate of citizen of Mauritius + National Identity Card;
10. Divorce decree of both parties (where applicable);
11. Death certificate of ex-spouse (where applicable);
12. Documentary evidence of latest financial means of the foreigner – a rate of USD 50 per Day.

- All documents to be produced in original (official translation is required if not in English or French) + two (2) copies.
- All documents should bear full surname(s), other name(s), date of birth and gender of the Applicant.
FEMALE APPLICANT
1. Application form to enter Mauritius filled and signed by applicant
2. Letter from applicant certifying her intention to marry a citizen of Mauritius including:-
(i) Occupation and earning to ensure his financial support to the would-be spouse;
(ii) Lodging /accommodation facilities;
(iii)Family status/background; and
(iv)Whether she knows the would-be spouse and for how long they know each other indicating how they got acquainted;
3. Two recent passport size photographs of applicant;
4. Full Birth certificate of applicant;
5. Full certificate of Character or Casier Judiciaire or Certificate of Previous Convictions which should bear the names and forenames of the applicant;
6. Copy of valid return passage ticket (where applicable);
7. Photocopy of data pages of valid passport of applicant;
8. Confirmation letter from citizen of Mauritius certifying intention of civil marriage with the non-citizen and undertaking of responsibilities;
9. Birth certificate of citizen of Mauritius + National Identity Card;

12. Documentary evidence of latest financial means of the citizen of Mauritius – Minimum Rs 45,000 for one month.
